This research prototype re-imagines concrete as a sustainable, lightweight material through advanced fabrication. Using Karamba 3D for structural optimization, we designed a twisting parabolic arch that distributes forces across four legs like an X-brace. The final 465-lb vault was realized at full scale using a hybrid of 3D-printed molds, 5-axis water jet-cut formwork, and traditional corbeling, minimizing waste without sacrificing structural integrity.
